Our Historical Artists
Our historical artists were fascinated by nature. They traveled the world to paint birds, mammals, native Americans and the landscape they lived in. Some artists were particularly interested in architecture, or flowers and insects. The artists were explorers and traveled widely, driven to show the world their discoveries. Our artists include John James Audubon, John Gould, Robert Thornton, Daniël Giraud Elliot, Karl Bodmer, Giovanni Battista Piranesi and many more.
